All foreign nationals (except Indians) require VISA to enter Nepal. Entry VISA can be applied at the Nepalese diplomatic mission abroad. Generally, VISA will be granted to the foreigners by Nepal Immigration upon their arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. However, currently Nepal Immigration has issued a No Visa on Arrival notice for the citizens of Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan. Please visit the website of Department of Immigration, Ministry of Home Affairs/Government of Nepal for detailed information about VISA application forms, photograph specification, VISA fees and many more. For the preparation of your journey, all the foreign delegates are kindly suggested to contact nearby Nepalese Diplomatic Mission to inquire further details about specific regulations.

Travel by Air to Kathmandu

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu is connected to many major cities of the world. All the foreign delegates coming by Air will be received at the airport by KaSAM-2016 volunteers. Please provide your flight details to Ram Adhikari ( as soon as possible. 

Transfer from Kathmandu to Pokhara

We have made an arrangement to transfer all the foreign delegates from Kathmandu to Pokhara on Oct. 16, 2016 by an early Bus Shuttle. The delegates willing to utilize this option are requested to contact Mr. Kedar Nath DHAKAL ( book your transfer no later than September 30The cost of transfer will be in the range of 15-30 USD per person.  For further information on travel and accommodations, please visit the Accommodations page

Other ways to get to Pokhara from Kathmandu

- by plane (25-30 minutes flight duration): A number of airlines operates regular flights form Kathmandu’s Tribhuwan International Airport (Domestic) to        Pokhara. You may find an overview of flight schedules, airlines and fare at

- by bus (about 200 km from Kathmandu): Tourist buses, local buses and small “micro” buses run from Kathmandu to Pokhara on a regular basis.



There are a number of ways to get around Pokhara: by foot, by bus, by bicycle, by taxi and cars. You may find more information about transportation system in Pokhara at . 



Climate: Pokhara has a sub-tropical climate; temperatures ranging 25 to 35 °C in summer and – 2 to 15 °C in winter.  Mean daily temperature during October is 22.1°C (71.8 °F) with an average low of 16.7 °C  (62.1°F) to as high as 27.5 °C  (81.5 °F). Please arrange your clothing accordingly. 


Things to doIn Pokhara, you can enjoy boating, trekking, hiking, pony rides, paragliding, cave visits  or simply relax at one of the lakes ( such as Phewa Lake) near the city with the stunning Annapurna Mountain range at the background. See more at
